On March 1, 2022, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) designated Sudan for Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for an 18-month period. The registration window to apply for TPS is April 19, 2022, through October 19, 2023.

This TPS will continue through October 19, 2023, for qualified Sudanese individuals who are granted TPS under this April 19, 2022 designation, and for qualified Sudanese individuals who have not been approved for TPS under this April 19, 2022 designation, but were granted TPS under a previous designation, and are now covered by the preliminary injunction issued by the federal district court in the pending Ramos et al. v. Wolf litigation.

This app will help applicants from that country determine if they qualify for Temporary Protected Status. Qualified TPS applicants are eligible for an employment authorization document and may, in some circumstances, travel outside the United States.
